National Trust to run Traveller sites ?

We enjoyed our walk on Walton Hill so much yesterday, we returned again today.

But obviously, we’re not the only ones locally to appreciate the site, and the views it affords. Where there was a single traveller vehicle in the car-park yesterday, today there were two. The new one parked crosswise in the parking space, taking up the place which would normally have been occupied by three vehicles.

Oh dear.
Looks like the New Age Travellers, sick and tired of waiting for some sort of positive action from the local Councils, are taking unilateral action and moving in on what used to be a wonderful amenity to be shared by the public in general. Thus further encroaching on the goodwill of the National Trust and the services it provides to the rest of us.

Earwigging on the highly audible comments made by other visitors to the site, let’s just hope this doesn’t disintegrate into violent disagreement of any sort between two mutually antagonistic communities.

But I wouldn’t bet on it.
